Our Story

Built for aged care.
From the inside out.

“That room is their home. Their entire world.”

The Founding Story

DreamsEdge did not begin as a business idea. It began as something far more personal. When Chris Palmer’s father moved into residential aged care, Chris experienced what so many families quietly carry.

“I went through the same journey every family goes through. The guilt, the grief, the desperate hope that he would be safe and looked after when I could not be there.”

What struck him was not just the quality of care being delivered. It was something deeper.

“For the people living in those facilities, that room is their home. Their entire world.”

The technology protecting that world was outdated. Fragmented. Reactive. Chris evaluated every option available: wearables, pendants, sensors, motion devices. He spoke to clinicians. Sat with operators. Tested products. The conclusion was consistent.

“Not good enough. Staff overwhelmed by false alarms. Nothing integrated. No way to use data from multiple systems to provide real clinical insights.”

So rather than wait for someone else, he got to work.

“I could see exactly what needed to be built. So I built it.”

THE QUESTION NO ONE WAS ASKING
The aged care sector had become accustomed to reacting. Falls were recorded after they happened. Staff responded when alarms triggered. In some cases, residents were not attended to quickly enough.

Chris saw the flaw immediately.

“Everyone was focused on the fall after it happened. Nobody was seriously asking, what if we could see it coming?”

The answer was already visible in the data. Patterns in movement. Changes in sleep. Restlessness in the early hours of the morning. All of it telling a story before something went wrong.

“A person’s movement, their sleep, their restlessness at 2am, these things tell a story before anything goes wrong.”

That insight is the foundation of everything DreamsEdge does.

WHY NOW
The timing for transformation in aged care is not optional. It is urgent. From November 2025, regulatory changes introduced a new level of personal accountability. Directors of aged care organisations are now personally liable for care outcomes. The window to get this right has never been more important.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
The performance metrics are strong. Up to 32 percent reduction in falls. Response times reduced to under 2 minutes. A 95 percent improvement in staff satisfaction.

But for Chris, the most important measure is not quantitative. It is the moment a family gets a call in time. The moment a carer reaches a resident before a fall becomes a crisis. The moment data becomes dignity.

Our Purpose.

We share the same purpose as every aged care provider in Australia — to keep residents safe, supported, and living with dignity. We built DreamsEdge to give you the intelligence to deliver on that purpose, every hour of every day.
